Picture
Camping unavailable from 24th to 30th November 2025 for Camp Draft Event
Nestled in a picturesque grassy setting, adjacent to the Thone River, with platypus habitat, Comboyne Showground offers a peaceful primitive camping experience with drinking water, toilets (including wheelchair accessible facilities) and hot showers.

Unpowered sites are available at $10 per person per night,
children under 16 free.
There is a limited number of powered sites, at $15 per person.

Special arrangements for groups - phone Susan on 02 6550 4006.
Payment is made on arrival, either to Susan Fisher, Peter Traynor at the Showground or at the Comboyne Community Centre or Comboyne General Store. Phone 0265504006 for assistance.
The newly completed Community Evacuation Centre and Multi-purpose Pavilion at the Showground provides kitchen and laundry facilities for campers and wheelchair-accessible shower and bathroom facilities.
Monotremes abound: The western boundary of the Showground is the Thone River, home to the iconic platypus. Echidnas also live on Comboyne Plateau.

Centrally located, the campground is a short walk from the charming small town of Comboyne, on the Comboyne Plateau, where you’ll discover friendly hospitality, great cafés, Commmunity Centre with Tourist Information, local Arts and Crafts and Internet facilities, interesting bespoke craft and farming shops, a well-stocked grocery store and the unique Comboyne Club.
Just on the Eastern fringe of the township is the Comboyne Historical Museum, giving insights into pioneering and farming history on the mid North Coast. Eclectic Markets are held at the Museum on the second Sunday of each month - check Facebook for updates.
Want more history? The Comboyne War Memorial Hall has been beautifully restored in the style of Art Nouveau/Art Deco in keeping with its beginning in 1922.
It's well worth a visit to this delightful town, surrounded by nature, agriculture and horticulture, with waterfalls, mountain ridges and scenic views, all within an hour's drive  from either Port Macquarie, Taree or Laurieton. Just half an hour from Wauchope
Opportunities abound for exploring forests and visiting exciting picnic spots like Elands, The Cells, and Ellenborough Falls (said to be the longest single drop falls in the Southern Hemisphere), Boorganna, Dingo Tops and Biriwal Bulga National Parks.
Comboyne Public School (est 1922) is a wonderful example of the benefits of smaller schools, and
Comboyne Community Preschool (est 1989) caters for the younger folk.
Comboyne Community Church welcomes all visitors and locals alike - non-denominational Christian Family Church Services every Sunday at 12 Noon.
